Mawlana Hamoon Rashid Masudi
Mawlānā Hamoon Rashid Masudi initiated his Islamic education at a young age, achieving the memorization of the Qur’ān in 2011 at the Muslim Center of New York. His academic journey continued at Darul Uloom New York, where he completed a six-year ‘Ālim course, excelling as the top of his class and mastering seven modes of Qur’anic recitation. His dedication to Islamic scholarship led him to study under distinguished scholars, furthering his expertise in Qur’anic recitation and Islamic studies, and earning recognition as a Qāri.
In pursuit of advanced Islamic knowledge, Mawlānā Hamoon traveled to Azaadville, South Africa, in 2018 to finish his ‘Ālim course, graduating with a Masters in Islamic Theology from Madrasah Arabiyyah Islamiyyah; Darul Uloom Azaadville. Upon returning to the United States, he joined the Iftaa program at his alma mater, Darul Uloom New York, and in 2020, graduated as part of the inaugural group of certified jurists under the tutelage of a student of the prominent Muftī Taqi Usmani. This achievement marked a significant milestone in his career, allowing him to serve his community by issuing fatāwā.
Beyond his religious accomplishments, Mawlānā Hamoon has been recognized by the American Fiqh Academy, joining its board of specialized jurists in Hanafi fiqh. Concurrently pursuing a degree in Psychology, he actively engages in educational and spiritual leadership, giving talks, and serving as an Imam in New York. Under the guidance of his mentors, he co-founded Al-Hikmah Institute in Farmingdale, New York, showcasing his commitment to both Islamic and secular education, and his dedication to community service.
